Celebrate My Gym Bethesda & My Gym Potomac’s 35 Years at their Open House

0

My Gym Bethesda and My Gym Potomac are a long-standing local Washington, DC Area businesses that provide indoor space for kids to play and learn. I recently took our 21-month-old to the My Gym Bethesda location and we had a wonderful “date” to play and watch his skills on various equipment. If you haven’t been to My Gym, check out one of their Open House Events THIS Friday at My Gym Bethesda or My Gym Potomac.

My Gym Bethesda is a Dynamic Space for Children Ages 6 Weeks to 10 Years

Climbing through obstacles at My Gym

My Gym Bethesda is a fun, safe space for kids to be kids that offers classes from ages 6 weeks to age 10 years.  Their classes and open gym are offered to members at a very reasonable price. You can sign-up for a free trial class or register online. Right when you walk in, you are greeted by friendly staff and place your belongings in cubbies. Kids go in barefoot and adults wear socks. When you walk in the space, you will see a ball pit, slides, mini-trampoline, foam wedges, foam tunnels, gym mats, climbing structures, and more. They also have a special closet they get items from as they switch things up in the classroom.

Our class began with open play. Which is basically adorable kiddos running around on anything and everything they can. The kids were climbing, bouncing, jumping, and maneuvering through obstacles. It was fun! After a few minutes, they kindly gathered our group around the big, red circle on the ground. The teachers led us in simple, descriptive songs that the kids caught onto easily. Next, the teachers set up a variety of things for kids to do. They set up a balance beam, a special balance swing, a fun tube for kids to learn to do a roll on, and several types of swings for all the kids to take turns swinging. Each activity was age-appropriate, but challenging. One thing I especially loved was the teachers announcing the new set-up and objectives behind each new gross motor experiment. After ALL of the activities, we gathered back around the big, red circle and sang some songs and all the kids got a stamp. It was fun and I was impressed! They kept the atmosphere fresh and engaging and our son took a solid nap after our “date” at My Gym Bethesda.

My Gym Potomac & My Gym Bethesda Also Offers Birthday Parties and Camps

If you are interested in a memorable birthday party, reach out to the location. I have personally been to a Birthday Party at the Potomac location and was blown away by the fun, dynamic nature at My Gym. The teachers treat the Birthday Kid like a star and make sure all of the guests have a good time! In my opinion, the teachers create more of a gymnastics type atmosphere for the older the kids. They really challenge the kids to move their bodies and learn new things they may have not tried before.

My Gym offers a wide range of classes and activities for kiddos. Be sure to check out their Potomac Class Schedule and Bethesda Class Schedule. It is worth your time to pop by to say hi and check out all that they offer. Your first class is always free!

Courtney Whittington
Courtney was born and raised in Louisiana where she met her husband (married in 2005). They have moved several times, but finally feel very settled in NW DC after moving back in 2016. She has four energetic kids: Cormac (2010), Evangeline (2013), Solomon (2016), and Antoinette (2019). She thinks motherhood is absolutely wonderful, but is constantly trying to figure out how to manage it all. She spends her days talking Star Wars, playing with legos, doing crafts, having tea parties, and chasing her toddler. Motherhood is wonderful and wild and in 2017 she banded together with other mothers to start DC Area Moms to inspire, learn, and grow together. She loves morning coffee, chocolate, chatting with people since she's an extrovert, a clean house (which is rare these days). She dislikes when her kids don't listen the first time, she abhors littering, and doesn't enjoy shopping.
