DC Moms Blog to Connect Local Moms

April 24, 2018

Washington, D.C. With a collaboration of diverse contributors ready to write, a District of Columbia mom announces the launch of DC Moms Blog. Courtney Whittington will launch this new parenting resource on Wednesday, April 25, 2018. DC Moms Blog will provide encouragement for moms, information on local parenting resources and organize events where moms can connect face-to-face.

“One of the unique qualities in DC is the diversity of people here and I desire all people to feel like their voice is represented on this site,” said Courtney Whittington, DC Moms Blog Owner. “I am most excited about creating a platform where mothers can share their hearts, stories, and experiences. I think we can all appreciate and learn from one another – and in doing so, realize how similar we are as mothers.”

DC Moms Blog joins nearly 80 parenting resource websites across the country, through City Moms Blog Network. Being a part of this sisterhood of like-minded “mom-preneurs,” Whittington will have the power of experience at her fingertips.

DC Moms Blog will not only bring the influence of local information to readers in DC area, but it will be tapped into the assets of nearly 80 mom-focused sites across the country,” said Stephanie Flies, City Moms Blog Network founder and director. “Courtney Whittington has caught a fantastic vision for the moms in her community and we are ready and excited to support her in this journey with DC Moms Blog.”

DC Moms Blog will offer a positive and encouraging space for mothers in the DC area that extends beyond the online space into real offline relationships,” explained Whittington. “As a communal space for Washington, DC area moms, the blog is a resource that helps connect and inform DMV moms with relevant, timely information; whether that be practical concerns like good brunch places, or splash pads, or personal perspectives offered by our dynamic contributors.”

In the coming days and weeks, DC area moms can look forward to finding joy, hope, and inspiration each day – even through the crazy ups and downs of parenting little ones! Courtney Whittington
Courtney was born and raised in Louisiana where she met her husband (married in 2005). They have moved several times, but finally feel very settled in NW DC after moving back in 2016. She has four energetic kids: Cormac (2010), Evangeline (2013), Solomon (2016), and Antoinette (2019). She thinks motherhood is absolutely wonderful, but is constantly trying to figure out how to manage it all. She spends her days talking Star Wars, playing with legos, doing crafts, having tea parties, and chasing her toddler. Motherhood is wonderful and wild and in 2017 she banded together with other mothers to start DC Area Moms to inspire, learn, and grow together. She loves morning coffee, chocolate, chatting with people since she's an extrovert, a clean house (which is rare these days). She dislikes when her kids don't listen the first time, she abhors littering, and doesn't enjoy shopping.
